Mr Savik Ramkay

Director, SMS, Skyservices Airlines Inc, Canada

Savik Ramkay is the Director of Safety Management Systems for Skyservice Airlines. His responsibilities include the development and implementation of safety programs including, Health & Safety, Environment, and Emergency Response Preparedness. He specialises in data driven decision making controls and solutions for corporate safety, quality and security.

Along with Savik’s technical experience as a licensed aircraft engineer and quality assurance inspector, he brings a global perspective from his participation in the Air Transportation Association of Canada and Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council. In 2006 Savik was appointed as the Chairman of the Safety Advisory Committee of the Air Transport Association of Canada.

Savik has presented and assisted in the development of SMS at the International Civil Association Organization (ICAO) on SMS and at International conferences in China CAA, Singapore, Mexico and Canadian Operators. Savik has also shared experiences at the Toronto Rehab Hospital regarding corporate benefits of safety systems.

Based on some of the changes implemented, Skyservice has been selected as the 2006 Canadian Airline Industry representative at the Tri National NAFTA Safety Conference and won the award for the lowest Airline Injury Rate in Canada for the last two years. The implementation of data driven tools have significantly improved operational efficiencies and financial bottom line for Skyservice Airlines.
