Although best-known for its biennial international aviation safety conferences in Canberra, Safeskies has found a broader on-going role as an informal safety forum for professionals in all sectors of aviation.

By handling matters informally and confidentially, Safeskies has become widely recognised as a body that facilitates exchanges of information and opinion and assists in developing relations and dialogue between the myriad of parties involved in modern aviation.

Safeskies is not an advocate for any sector or interest. Because of its very broad non-partisan industry involvement, it has often been able to form balanced and independent perspectives that have assisted in the resolution of issues.

A wide range of commercial, government and military aviation organisations recognise Safeskies' independent role by providing financial and other support.

Safeskies is a not for profit organisation and its committee is unpaid.
