Hyatt Hotel Canberra, Canberra’s only five-star hotel, is conveniently located in the National Capital’s Parliamentary Triangle, minutes from Canberra’s major tourist attractions, the City Centre and Government Offices.

Banks

Banking hours may vary but most suburban and city banks are open from 9.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 9.30am to 5.00pm Friday. Most suburban and city banks have after hours automatic bank teller (EFTPOS) facilities.

The Hyatt Hotel Canberra does not have an ATM. The nearest ATM would be located within the Canberra Centre, a 10 minute walk to the city.

Car Parking

Undercover valet car parking at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra is available for hotel guests at $21.00 per night per vehicle. Guests are offered a reduced price of $10 per day when attending the Conference. To access the undercover parking, contact Concierge, located at the main hotel entrance off Commonwealth Avenue.

Alternatively, there are up to 200 external car parks surrounding the hotel which are available on a complimentary basis. These are located in ACT Government parking space, and guests must observe the appropriate parking zones.

Changes/Amendments

Alterations to, or cancellations of your Conference booking must be advised to the Conference Secretariat via email at safeskies07@consec.com.au or fax to +61 2 6251 0672.

Due to administrative requirements, changes and/or alterations advised verbally cannot be accepted.

Disclaimer

Dress

Recommended dress for the Conference is smart casual for all conference sessions and the Charity Social Evening. Lounge suit for the Sir Reginald Ansett Memorial Lecture and Official Conference Dinner.

Liability Waiver

In the event of industrial disruptions, the Conference and the organisers accept no responsibility.

No-Smoking Policy

All the function rooms at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra are NON-SMOKING.

Personal Insurance

Delegates shall be regarded in every aspect as carrying their own risk for loss or injury to person or property, including baggage during the Conference. We strongly recommend that at the time of booking your travel and tours you take out a travel insurance policy of your choice. The policy taken should include the loss of deposit through cancellation, medical insurance, loss or damage to personal property, financial loss incurred through disruptions to accommodation or travel arrangements due to strikes or other industrial action. The organisers are in no way responsible for any claims concerning insurance.

Privacy Clause

In registering for this Conference, relevant details will be incorporated into a delegate list for the benefit of all delegates (name and organisation only), and may be made available to parties directly related to the Conference including Consec - Conference Management, venues and accommodation providers (for the purposes of room bookings and Conference options), key sponsors (subject to strict conditions).

By completing the registration form, you acknowledge that the details (name, organisation and state) supplied by you may be used for the above purposes. Should you not wish for your details to be used for these purposes, please tick the appropriate box on the registration form.

Transport to and from the Airport

Taxi

The Conference venue is approximately 20 minutes by taxi from the Canberra Airport and the cost is approximately $25. Taxis are available at all times of the day from the front of the terminal.

Coach

The subsidised Airliner shuttle bus service operates Monday to Friday and provides express bus service to and from the airport and Canberra city. You can pick up the Airliner bus from the central terminal right outside the main doors. Look for the shuttle bus stop as you leave the central terminal. The fare is only $7 one way and $12 return.
